National Book Store Celebrates Children's Reading Month

Reading is a surefire way for kids and parents to establish a special bond. The one-on-one communication in reading not just enhances kids’ emotional and mental development, it also encourages their imagination to travel to a world unlike any other.

This October, National Book Store, together with Enfakid and SM North EDSA, celebrates Children's Reading Month with a literary extravaganza filled with storytelling sessions, loads of surprises and fun, learning activities.

Now on its fourth year, the NBS Children's Reading Fair aims to promote reading as a valuable past time and encourage parents to help their kids make it a habit. Not only that, an integral part of this year's festivities is to give back to children in underprivileged communities so they too can experience the joys of reading.

As a treat for its avid readers, NBS gives up to 20% off on selected local and imported Children's, Young Adult, and Parenting titles starting October 11 until November 16. With every purchase of these selected titles, P1.00 will go the NBS Foundation for the funding of their Buklat-Aklat Mobile libraries that tour public schools nationwide.

Take part in the culminating activity on November 16 at the SM North Edsa Entertainment Plaza, where guest storytellers are sure to delight the young ones and cool giveaways are up for grabs.

Bring your kids to any NBS branch during this month-long celebration and together you can discover the exhilarating and imaginative world of literature.

For every P150 single receipt purchase of any Children’s, Young Adult, and/or Parenting titles, a customer is entitled to get one (1) entry pass to the Children’s Reading Fair culminating event on November 16, 2008 at the SM North Edsa Entertainment Plaza. Laking National Cardholders are entitled to two (2) entry passes for every P150 purchase of any Children’s, Young Adult, and/or Parenting titles.

Purchases must be made in any National Book Store branch nationwide.

Receipts must within the period October 10 to November 16, 2008 only and must be stamped “VALID FOR PROMO” by a Customer Service representative on the day of purchase.

Receipts must be presented at the registration table on the event venue to get an entry pass. Receipts will be stamped claimed upon presentation at the registration table.

Each entry pass is valid for one (1) person for one (1) event only.

Each entry pass will contain stubs for the pocket activities and giveaways. The participant should have his/her stub punched or surrender the stub upon availing of the pocket activity or giveaway.

Activities start at 1:00 p.m. and end at 5:00 p.m.

Participants in the Children’s Activities must be from ages 5-16 years only.

All employees of National Book Store, Inc. and Abacus Book & Card Corp. and its relatives up to the second degree of consanguinity and affinity are disqualified from participating in this promotion.
