Before You Plan a Party...

Before you jumped right into the planning stage of a party, take a deep breath and pause.

I'm not a party organizer, but as a family entertainer I have been to countless parties to know firsthand the Herculean work needed to throw a successful party.

Here are my simple thoughts on this matter.

Creating a memorable birthday party for your child can be a lot of work. But it can also be fun. All you need to know is a way around the dozens of details to take care of.

You can go two ways. Either hire a professional party organizer or do it yourself.

If you hire a party organizer, it will take a big chunk of the burden off your shoulder. Provided, of course, you choose one who can meet all your needs and help you put up all the details. A professional party organizer can help you not only create a special birthday party for your child but also save you time, effort and, even perhaps, money. All you need to do is follow his/her advice step-by-step, so you don't get tangled in the countless of details.

On the other hand, if you want a do-it-yourself birthday party, as opposed to one organized by a professional party planner, you must be prepared for a difficult job ahead. Creating a party of your child is definitely a work of love. It entails hard work, but your child will love you more for the extra effort you take to make his or her birthday fun and memorable.

With that end in mind, the challenges of organizing a birthday party should not daunt you. Instead, treat it as little adventure that you take with your child. Get a lot of fun and excitement out of organizing it.
